Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everybody!

I have no new pictures for you - all my time has been spent on finding a new house. And I actually think we have found it - all that remains is all the boring banking buisness. I'm still pretty scared about moving out of town, but I guess they do have internet out there :)... and it's only 10 minuttes in train, so maybe it's not that dangerous. And there will be much more room for my mountain of lead in the new house :)

But now it's christmas and I hope you will all get bigger mountains of lead. And maybe even spend some of the holidays painting a mini or two!

See you soon - I hope to get back to painting early in the new year! There are so many minis I would love to paint - and even more I would love to buy.

Monsters starter set - Complete

The monsters starter set is done.

Here goes:

The ogre was the last piece to complete the gang. I think he came out fine. The broken weapon isn't noticed, I hope... Cut off a few milimeters and pinned it to the hand.

It has been very fun to paint these golden oldies to match the original artwork - the hobgoblin and the orc are still my favourites, but the ogre has its charm :)

The wolf...not my cup of tea... And even though I felt I did an ok paintjob on the dark elf.. he's not great either... The chaos warrior as a very retro feel about him...I quite like the very golden scheme...

I hope you like them - there might come more old school minis in the future...

Kobolds

A quick paintjob for the next roleplay session. Nothing fancy, just to let you know that I am painting :)

5 kobolds from Otherworld miniatures. They are very small - around 17 mm to the eyes. They're on 20mm bases. Fun little minis.

It feels good actually painting some of the Otherworld minis from the lead pile... I'm tempted to place a new order at Otherworld... the woucher system they have over there is very sneaky...makes me wanna buy tons of minis...

As for the monsters starter set, the last one, the ogre, is on his way. The weapon has been fixed and the plan is to have him done next friday. I'm looking forward to finish the set :)

More monsters

I have been working on the Monsters starter set from 1985. The orc and the hobgoblin were definitely the best of the bunch. Here they are together with the goblin, the lesser goblin, the wolf and the chaoswarrior. They are relatively quick paintjobs - nothing fancy there - but still they are lots of fun.

There's the darkelf and the ogre with the broken weapon left... Can't say when they'll be done - But I'm still in the mood for roleplaying miniatures... might paint some of the Otherworld minis I bought some 2 years ago...

Monsters

Tadaa... I have actually used my painted pathfinder goblins in play...real d&d roleplay! And now I want to paint more miniatures for roleplaying :)

And it so happend that I had this one in the pile of lead:

The ogre had a broken weapon, so he wont be painted this time. But the others got new bases to match my adventurers and the orc and the hobgoblin has already seen some paint:

They are great models - the best two in the set, I think.
I can't wait to meet them in a dark alley...Then they will taste the sword of my young and rightous paladin... hehe.

Hopefully the other bad guys will join those two soon...

Skavens and the adventurers starter set

OK then... I have some pictures for you! They aren't as good as I had hoped, but I'll show them anyway.

First, my latest 2.ed skaventeam:

The ratogre-model is the Clawed fiend from GW - it makes a quite nice ratogre I think.

And then there's the very old school adventurers starter set from back in the days (1984)

They came out like this:

Not all of the models turned out great... the gnome for example is pretty bad... And the colourschemes from the artwork don't do much good for any of the models really. Even so, I still feel there is something cool about this project - it was funny trying to follow the artwork, and doing so, I can of course blame the artist for all bad decisions :)

Blood Bowl at Giant Fanatic14

And so it came and went... This years Giant Fanatic...

Just got back from Giant Fanatic (gf14). I managed to get the painting of my new skaventeam done in time (saturday morning, 1 hour before kickoff). 18 Players participated, including some of the finest bb-players in Denmark as well as a girl from Rusia (a REAL girl...woman... I'm not kidding!).

I won 4 out of my 7 games, scored 12 touchdowns and made 19 casulties - the casulties gave me the honour of most butchering player (some norse guy didn't turn up for the last two games, and I beat him by one casulty)

I even got the chance to beat my own woodelf team to smithereens :)

Besides being the tournament, where I play my yearly games of blood bowl, GF is also a very impressive Warhammer event (some 150 players). I talked to Tue Kaas, a golden demon winner some years ago, and after having painted a little handful of miniatures a year, he surprised me with this stunning 40k army:

I presume he won best painted, but I didn't stay to find out. Anyway, it looked great!

I also had the pleasure to see 'Tulzifar' from Powerfist.dk in action - this is a 'dick-train' (?!) that was made for a music video with some danish band - very grotesque

Anyhow, I ended up fourth in the tounament (Mobo won again, this time with some cheesy woodelves... wonder if he ever dares to play some teams that doesn't play themselves, hehe)and I won best painted team as well, even though it was a close call this year (picures of the skaventeam will come when I have the time to take some). It was a great weekend with thousands and thousands of painted miniatures - Great!

Empirearmy

I was trying to organize my harddisk, and stumbled across this: an armyshot of my old empirearmy. Didn't even know I had it. The picture was taken by GW to be brought in White Dwarf back in 2005... they never did though. It's still nice army - won best painted at 'Giant Fanatic' 3 times I think :)

Those where the days...

I wish I had done the bases different, though... with static grass... oh well, I was young and innocent...

Griffons

A quick commisionjob (ok.. actually it took a little longer) - two griffons for an empirearmy.

I was told to keep close to the colourscheme of the latest gw-griffon... and I believe I did. The green bases was requsted too...

bb elf kicker

Got som commisionjobs that have set my adventurers on stand by... For example this addition to the brown/orange woodelf team of 2. ed blood bowl elves:

Lovely old miniature - only thing that bothers me sculptwise is his left side of the face... a little twisted and odd... but it doesn't show that much, I think.

At the moment I'm working on some griffins for an empirearmy - with green bases! (I have actually never painted bases green before , but these have to fit an existing army)

flood

Doh! My basement was flooded last week because of the insane rain we had... and my 2 blood bowl boards were damaged :( And lots of miniature boxes (though the miniatures themselves were ok). Hope it doesn't rain like that ever again.

Paintwise I have been painting old school miniatures lately! :) I can't show you something right now... I'm waiting for the group shot... and I'm only halfway done. But here's something to hint how old school it is:

Spacehulk and Frodo

Oh boy, am I looking forward to summer. I have some new miniatures for you though. First is a little monkey for my Spacehulk - the Orangutango from Reaper...fun little model. I'm aiming one day to have a complete spacehulk squad of monkeys. (This guy is a must have: http://www.grindhousegames.com/blogs/incursion-blog/3259422-this-guy-is-a-monster)

Anyway... Here is the Orangutang:

And I have been on some oldschool citadel miniature nostalgia trip as well. Here is a mounted Frodo from somewhere back in the eighties:

He is looking a little rough, but mind you, he is quite small in real life :) Cute little fella... Got the Frodo on foot as well...

Here's what I have been doing.

Long time, no update :( Sorry about that, but the real world kept bugging me. I would like to welcome all the newcomers to my blog. I'm so happy that you bother!

I have been painting in the meantime, though. Here's what I have been doing:

- The models for Wrath of Ashardalon. Nearly 50 plastic models for some more dungeoncrawling. speedpainted with Devlan mud and highlighted - to go with the Castle Ravnloft models shown earlier.

- 6 pretty nice plastic models for the boardgame Cluedo, no photos of them either, they have been shipped to customer (well actually they're on display at Fantask, Copenhagen, but they should be picked up anyday now)

- The first skavens for my new 2. ed skaven blood bowl team :)
This is the third 2.ed skaven team I paint... just love those rats (go Goodwin!)
As you can see, so far I have painted 3 linemen (one of them is the kicker model) and a gutterrunner. The colourscheme is orange/red and orange/yellow. (I realize that the ctachers loinclothes is somewhat less yellow than the rest... gotta do something about that) The plan is to paint them one at a time to give each of them full attention... Lets see if I can stick to that and actually finish the team... stay tuned! :)

3 socalled mites from Reapers Pathfinder. Nothing fancy... 2 hours of work and there you have them.I would love to field them against a party of adventureres... It's a shame that I don't do any roleplaying...

The complete 2. ed. elven blood bowl team

There you are. That should be it. Here is the complete 2. ed elf team. 17 models in total.

The treeman is hard to see in detail... He actually has a very nice face expression. It's a great model. I still don't know where he comes from - I remember having seen the model with a halfling team as well.

The linemen let the team down a bit, I think... As I had feared they look quite weak beside the blitzer and catcher models. Anyway - they are classic models and they belong to this team.

What now? Uhhhh I still have the urge to paint some more 2. ed blood bowl skavens, but then again you never know. Soon the Ravenloft boardgame follow-up will come out. Maybe I will speedpaint a set of dungeonraid plastic models.

BB-referee (human)

While I try to finish the 2. ed elven team... here's a little in between mini. One of the two bb-referees from gw... I have painted the other - a dwarf - as well... can't find it right now though...(You can see him on the slann team shot, I believe)

I'm working on the treeman for the elven team... he's quite a big guy :)

(Saw the rulebok for AE Bounty the other day... made me wanna paint some aliens... or maybe I should just stick to bb for some time... Uhhh so many minis and I'm so lazy...)

A new team-wip-photo

The first two linemen are done... and a second thrower. I still have to finish 4 more linemen (almost done) and the treeman. Can't wait to get my hands on that treeman. Customer showed me the model yesterday, and it was great. I haven't seen it before (and there I was, thinking I had seen it all). There was talk about altering the model with some greenstuff additions... I hope he doesn't alter it too much though :)

And I made a great bargain on ebay..hehe... buying another 15 2.ed skavens for my next bloodbowl skaven team... I wonder when I will actually have the time to paint them. Nonetheless it felt terrific to buy them :)

And a warm welcome to all the newcomers at this blog - I guess this bloodbowl updates have been quite popular. Don't worry, there will be more!
